Ketchum-Pelley Wedding: December 31st, 2011

In the most recent feature of the Brides of Oklahoma Magazine, we had one of the most spectacular weddings that we’ve ever had the pleasure to work on included. Miss Cortney Ketchum and Mister Alex Pelley were married on December 31st of 2011 at Kirk of the Hills with reception at The Mayo Hotel. Every detail of this wedding was done to the nines and for a New Years Wedding, we couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect to be a part of. With the color scheme of emerald green, black and gold, the richness of the color choices were perfect. The flowers were done by The French Bouquet and they only added to the vibrance and beauty of these nuptials.  Cortney had a very specific flower in mind that she wanted to be featured and the staff at The French Bouquet made sure that she was given exactly what she had hoped for.  Finally, the photos were captured by Chris Humphrey and he did the most fantastic job capturing not only the ceremony but the fun of the party, itself. From the kiss after the vows to the kiss at midnight, he made sure not to miss a shot. Finally, we, at The Inviting Place, were thrilled to get to work with one of our couture vendors, Bell’Invito on Cortney and Alex’s Invitations. From intricate letterpress to golden shimmering engraving to custom calligraphy, every invitation or accessory that they made for this wedding was incredible. Needless to say, we’re extremely proud to feature the happy couple, Cortney and Alex, as one of our most favorite Inviting Place Bride and Groom. xoxo.

Bridal Feature: Nikki Montgomery

When Nikki and her darling mom came in to start looking at wedding invitations, we knew this was going to be a fun bride to work with. When we asked the question, “when is your big day?” and she said New Years Eve… we couldn’t have been more thrilled. There are so many colors, fonts and party details that come to mind when planning a NYE wedding. Once we’d looked at a lot of different books and gathered a lot of inspiration, we settled on doing something custom through the store. Every element was one of a kind and so incredibly neat, we were thrilled to handle it for her. As you can see by the pictures, Nikki knew what she liked and she went for it. Using thermography print throughout, incorporating the cobalt blue, silver and pinks that she used for her wedding and keeping with the fun aspect of a New Years Eve wedding, Nikki outdid herself. We couldn’t have asked for a more cooperative, fun loving, easy going bride to work with. Thank you, Nikki and congratulations to you and Mark. We wish you all the happiness in the world for the future. xoxo, The Inviting Place.

Although I am long gone from college, I still love to relive my glory days. When I first pledged my sorority, you better bet I stocked my wardrobe, put that sticker on my car and had pretty much all of the sorority swag that I could get my hands on. If Clairebella had been around during that time, I would have been the coolest girl on campus. Clairebella makes it simple to stand out incorporating unique, personalized items that not EVERYONE has because, let’s get real, who really wants to be a clone of every girl on campus?? Not me. So, on that note, stop in today or head over to our vendor page on our site (click on the picture) and select Clairebella under ‘Gifts’ to check out all that they have to offer. I promise you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to see what you choose!! xoxo, The Inviting Place.

The Inviting Place July Bridal Feature: Mindy Knapp

Among all of the reasons that we love working at The Inviting Place, one of our most favorites has to be the opportunity to work with our wonderful Inviting Place brides. On the top of our favorites list is Mindy Knapp, The Inviting Place’s feature bride for July. As soon as Mindy walked through our doors, we knew that we were going to have a fantastic time. The bride chose gorgeous Smock invitations in a unique but classic die-cut shape. When asked about her invitation choice, Mindy said, “I knew that I wanted something a bit different. There was a basket of sample Smock invitations in your store and I was able to pull things I liked from the wide range of options.” Smock is known for their gorgeous letterpress invitations and Mindy chose fabulous coordinating colors and patterns to back the invite and line the envelopes. Like we always say, the invitation sets the tone for the event and Mindy’s gorgeous Smock invites definitely fit with their modern, elegant and glitzy theme using shades of pink, white and gold.

Of course, we had to get a little girly and asked Mindy what she loves most about her groom, Steven. Her answer was absolutely perfect. Mindy said, “My groom is awesome; he is kind, endearing and funny. He has a way of finding the positive and I love how we have a lot in common. We both love OU football, traveling and trying out new restaurants.” Finally, with Mindy being the sweetest girl ever, she threw in a lovely comment about her time with us at The Inviting Place. She said, “my favorite thing about The Inviting Place was how fun they were to work with! The wedding process is a fun but stressful time and the stress always seemed to melt away when we were in the store. They always seemed to get our ‘visions’ and I love how they created a stamp to match everything and even their envelopes followed the theme.” We thank Mindy for letting us feature her for July and want to wish her a fantastic wedding day come this Saturday, July 21st. Congratulations Mindy and Steven, we adore you both!
